We invite you to explore the agenda for our first ever Assessment for Learning Conference. You can begin building your individual schedule in person at the conference. We look forward to seeing you in San Diego!
What can we learn from the natural and social ecosystems of the San Diego area? Beto Vasquez, a community college professor of Biology and an interdisciplinary scientist, will help bring our conference theme to life with a place-based introduction to San Diego. At the Center for Research on Educational Equity, Assessment and Teaching Excellence (CREATE) at the University of California at San Diego, Beto spearheads UCSD’s efforts to increase STEM diversity, engagement and access to disenfranchised communities throughout Southern California. He is an educational advocate for marginalized groups and a great proponent of diversity in Science, technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) fields. He has worked in the non-profit sector, local government and higher education; and has been instrumental in successfully implementing programs supporting disproportionately impacted populations and addressing social justice issues.
